Kundalini Yoga Turban Slimline

A generous full-width cotton turban with the traditional character of headwear you might encounter in India.

At 3 metres long and 80 cm wide, this is the fullest turban in the Kundalini Whites collection. The generous width provides plenty of fabric for a substantial, traditional wrap and can be folded to create the fullness and shape you prefer.

For those who choose to cover the head during Kundalini Yoga, a turban offers a traditional way of covering the crown and can support a sense of focus and inwardness during practice. Kundalini teachings associate head covering with containing and focusing energy and supporting concentration in meditation.

The rustic-soft cotton has a natural, slightly homespun character that gives this turban a particularly authentic Indian feel. A smooth voile option is also available in selected colours.

The full width is particularly suited to those who enjoy a more substantial turban, or who want plenty of fabric to experiment with different wrapping styles. The fabric can also be cut lengthwise to create two narrower turbans if you prefer a slimmer wrap.

A note about the colours

White is traditional within Kundalini Yoga, but colour has long been used with considerable individuality among Kundalini practitioners. This turban is available in several colours, allowing you to choose according to your own preference and practice.

Miri Piri Blue has a particular connection to the Sikh and Kundalini communities of Amritsar. The colour is familiar in Sikh settings, and is also strongly associated with Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar, where the blue uniform is part of the students' identity. One of the photographs here was taken during our own time at Miri Piri Academy, with three teenage students we met there.

For Kundalini yogis, this colour is less commonly seen than white and is particularly familiar among those who have embraced Sikhism. Its presence here reflects that connection rather than suggesting that a particular colour is prescribed for Kundalini Yoga.

Care

Wash on a gentle cycle and dry in the shade. Ironing is optional. Once dry, fold the fabric to your preferred width and store as a roll, ready for wrapping.
